Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Patients With Osteosarcoma: Local Control Outcomes With Dosimetric Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Analysis of Type-II Censored Competing Risks’ Data under Reduced New Modified Weibull Distribution

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
Models with the bathtub-shaped hazard rate function are widely used in lifetime analysis and reliability engineering. In this paper, we adopted the reduced new modified Weibull (RNMW) distribution with a bathtub-shaped hazard rate function.

Lifestyle Behaviors and Cardiotoxic Treatment Risks in Adult Childhood Cancer Survivors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Higher doses of anthracyclines and heart‐relevant radiotherapy increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This study assessed CVD and CVD risk factors among adult childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) across cardiotoxic treatment risk groups and examined associations between lifestyle behaviors and treatment risks.

Distribution of placental grade in high-risk gravidas [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Roentgenology, 1984
One hundred twenty-eight high-risk gravidas and 62 normal gravidas who had undergone placental sonography were compared retrospectively according to placental grade, risk category, and stage of pregnancy at the time of the examination. Pregnancies ranged from 28 weeks of gestation to term.

Changes in Body Composition in Children and Young People Undergoing Treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.

Distribution of major health risks: findings from the Global Burden of Disease study.

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2004
BackgroundMost analyses of risks to health focus on the total burden of their aggregate effects. The distribution of risk-factor-attributable disease burden, for example by age or exposure level, can inform the selection and targeting of specific ...

Estimation of Dependent Competing Risks Model with Baseline Proportional Hazards Models under Minimum Ranked Set Sampling

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The ranked set sampling (RSS) is an efficient and flexible sampling method. Based on a modified RSS named minimum ranked set sampling samples (MinRSSU), inference of a dependent competing risks model is proposed in this paper.

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied.
