Capital Outflow Controls and Income Distribution in Malaysia

open access: yes, 2008
The study seeks to analyze the impact of capital outflow controls, imposed by Malaysian government on September 1998, on income distribution. Regression analysis using OLS (Ordinary Least Square), 2SLS (Two Stages Least Square) and GMM (Generalised ...

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Cancer‐associated mutations in endometriosis reframe a benign disease through molecular oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review aims to comprehensively analyse cancer‐associated somatic mutations (CAMs) present in endometriotic lesions, emphasizing their biological roles, spatial distribution and implications for translational applications in medicine. By contextualizing a benign state within a genomic framework, this analysis seeks to establish its value as a ...

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Government Policy and Equality of Income Distribution in the Netherlands (1945-1986)

open access: yes, 1992
Inequality of income distribution in the Netherlands has since 1945 strongly been influenced by government policies. Until the end of the 1970s, governments pursued policies designed to reduce income differentials.

CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Macroeconomic Variables and Income Distribution: Conditional Modeling with the generalized Exponential

open access: yes, 2000
This paper presents a method of examining the effects of macroeconomic variables on the personal distribution of income over time. The approach involves modeling the complete distribution of income in each year using a flexible functional form from the ...
