Distribution system state estimation

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1995
A three-phase distribution system state estimation algorithm is proposed in this paper. The normal equation method is used to compute the real-time states of distribution systems modeled by their actual a-b-c phases. A current based formulation is introduced and compared with other formulations.

Distribution System Distributed Quasi-Dynamic State Estimator

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2016
With increasing deployment of smart meters and other smart grid sensors in distribution systems, the amount of available measurements has been growing. This change enables implementation of comprehensive distribution system state estimators, a basic tool that provides the real-time model and operating conditions of the distribution network.

Forecast-aided distribution system state estimation

Mediterranean Conference on Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Energy Conversion (MedPower 2016), 2016
This paper presents Forecast-Aided Distribution System State Estimation algorithm based on the Unscented Kalman Filter. It uses pseudo-measurements based on the forecasted load profiles and previous state estimation, in conjunction with optimally placed limited number of load active and reactive power measurements.

Real-time Distribution System State Estimation

2010 Conference Proceedings IPEC, 2010
In this paper a new approach for a three-phase Distribution System State Estimator (DSSE) is presented. It utilizes the most types of analog real time measurements (including voltage and current magnitude, active and reactive power measurements). The correct utilization is supported by topology analysis and creation of measurement areas.
