Using density functional molecular dynamics simulations we study the electronic properties of glassy g-GeS$_2$. We compute the electronic density of states, which compares very well with XPS measurements, as well as the partial EDOS and the inverse ...

Disulfide bond formation in the bacterial periplasm: major achievements and challenges ahead.
SIGNIFICANCE The discovery of the oxidoreductase disulfide bond protein A (DsbA) in 1991 opened the way to the unraveling of the pathways of disulfide bond formation in the periplasm of Escherichia coli and other Gram-negative bacteria. Correct oxidative

A flexible electrode loaded with a carbon nanowire network (CC@C‐NWN) is developed for electrochemically generating reactive chlorine species (RCS) from abundant chloride ions in body fluids for tumor therapy. CC@C‐NWN enhances chlorine evolution, inducing redox dysregulation and synergistic apoptosis‐ferroptosis in tumor cells.

Precise Molecular Structures of Cysteine, Cystine, Hydrogen-Bonded Dicysteine, Cysteine Dipeptide, Glutathione and Acetyl Cysteine Based on Additivity of Atomic Radii [PDF]
Structures of molecules are usually represented by arbitrary line drawings, ball and stick or space filling models. In recent years, the author found that using the appropriate radii of atoms and ions, bond lengths in inorganic, organic and biomolecules ...

Disulfide Bonds in Sendai Virus Glycoproteins
The precursor of fusion protein (Fo) in Sendai virus growth in Vero cells can be cleaved by trypsin to forms F1 and F2, which can be resolved on SDS-polyacrylamide gels. However, if disulfide bonds are preserved during electrophoresis, F1 and F2 remain linked together even after trypsin treatment (F).
