KDM4A Erases the H3R17me2a Mark, Facilitating Chromosome Condensation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a reversible histone modification switch governing chromosome condensation during mitosis. PKCα‐activated KDM4A removes H3R17me2a, permitting Suv39h1‐driven H3K9me3 deposition. This epigenetic transition recruits the chromosomal passenger complex and triggers Aurora B‐dependent H3S10 phosphorylation, coordinating chromatin remodeling

Activation of Serum Creatine Kinase by Dithiothreitol

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 1972
Abstract I studied activation of serum creatine kinase (CK) by sulfhydryl reagents, and the optimum assay conditions. Dithiothreitol and β-mercaptoethanol were the best activators. Dithioerythritol, L-cysteine, glutathione, and mercaptoacetate were less effective.

GNL3 Orchestrates AR Transcriptional Programs to Drive Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer and Immune Evasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
GNL3 is a novel AR coregulator with dual coactivator and corepressor functions in prostate cancer (PCa). Our study uncovers a previously unrecognized mechanism by which the AR transcriptional complex integrates oncogenic signaling and immune suppression.

Data on the inhibition of RNase inhibitor activity by a monoclonal antibody as assessed by microfluidics-based RNA electrophoresis

open access: yesData in Brief, 2016
Using purified reaction components, a commercial monoclonal antibody (Ab) specific to RNase inhibitor (RI) was found to interfere with the activity of RI.

Dithiothreitol Separation of Newborn Rodent Dermis and Epidermis

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1979
Incubation of newborn mouse skin in media containing 0.01 M dithiothreitol at 4 degrees C for 2 hr reduces dermal-epidermal cohesion, and the 2 layers may be separated readily. Unlike other methods of separation, this technique does not require heating, nonphysiologic pH or ionic strength, or addition of proteolytic enzymes.

Coordination of Cyanobacterial Nitrate Assimilation and Photosynthesis by a Novel PsbO‐Interacting Protein PirN

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PirN was identified as a previously uncharacterized PsbO‐interacting protein specifically induced in nitrate‐grown cyanobacteria. Loss of PirN leads to coordinated downregulation of PsbO and the nitrate reductase NarB, causing decreased PSII activity and impaired growth under nitrate conditions. Complementation with either PsbO or NarB largely restores

Targeting m6A Reader YTHDF1 Enhances Antitumor Immunity and Potentiates Anti‐PD‐L1 Efficacy in Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The m6A reader YTHDF1 drives intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) progression by remodeling the tumor immune microenvironment. YTHDF1 promotes MDSC recruitment via activation of m6A‐FOSL2‐CXCL6/CXCR2 axis, thereby suppressing CD8+ T cell infiltration and function.

Endogenous Ceramide 24:1 Constrains Th17‐Driven Neutrophilic Inflammation by Antagonizing EP2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cer24:1 levels are reduced in neutrophilic asthma and inversely correlate with disease severity and airway neutrophilia. Restoring Cer24:1 suppresses pathogenic Th17 differentiation by engaging EP2 on CD4+ T cells, thereby dampening the JAK2–STAT3–RORγt axis and reducing IL‐17 production.

Nanoscale Spatial Organization of ARC High‐ and Low‐Order Assemblies at Excitatory Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ARC (Activity‐Regulated Cytoskeleton‐Associated protein) mediates synaptic plasticity by forming nanoscale assemblies in neurons. Using super‐resolution microscopy and time‐resolved anisotropy with targeted tagging, the study reveals low‐order ARC assemblies at synapses colocalizing with AMPARs, semi‐circular structures at endocytic zones, and 60–80 nm

Structural analysis of Cytochrome P450 BM3 mutant M11 in complex with dithiothreitol.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The bacterial Cytochrome P450 (CYP) BM3 (CYP102A1) is one of the most active CYP isoforms. BM3 mutants can serve as a model for human drug-metabolizing CYPs and/or as biocatalyst for selective formation of drug metabolites.
