Diurnal cycles of salivary cortisol in older adults
Psychoneuroendocrinology, 2004Cortisol has a well-documented circadian pattern. However, recent studies have demonstrated that individual variation in diurnal cortisol patterns occurs in young adult populations. Since older adults experience altered sleep-wake cycles and changes in circadian rhythmicity, we may see even greater variations in diurnal cortisol patterns in older ...

Diurnal cycle for spontaneous oto-acoustic emission frequency
Hearing Research, 1985Spontaneous oto-acoustic emission frequency was measured in two subjects at different times on the same day. A statistically significant frequency decrease during the morning hours was observed for both subjects. Possible mechanisms (ear canal pressure, body temperature, androgen level) for this decrease are discussed.

Individual differences in the diurnal cycle of cortisol
Psychoneuroendocrinology, 1997This study investigated individual differences in the diurnal cycle of cortisol and explored their relation to several psychosocial variables and to upper-respiratory symptoms. Cortisol and daily experience were assessed for 2 days in 109 healthy employed and unemployed community residents (mean age = 36.4 +/- 12.1, 69% female); self-report upper ...

The Diurnal Rainfall Cycle in FGOALS
2013The Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project simulations of the diurnal cycle of summer time rainfall, produced by FGOALS-g2 and FGOALS-s2 for the fifth assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, were evaluated in the present study. Both models generally captured the early morning peak over the oceans, but FGOALS-g2 (FGOALS-s2)
