Diurnal cycle of precipitation in Brazil
Abstract The diurnal cycle is an important mode of climatic variability associated with different aspects of micro, meso and large scale meteorological phenomena. Thus, we performed a study of the space-time variability of the diurnal cycle based on the longest time series (13-years) of precipitation with hourly sampling and covering all ...

Diurnal variations in integrated water vapor derived from a GPS ground network in the Volga–Ural region of Russia [PDF]
In this article, we present estimates of diurnal and semidiurnal harmonics of variations in integrated water vapor content (IWV) according to data from 16 GPS stations in the Volga–Ural region of Russia during 2013–2015.

Influences of Lake Malawi on the spatial and diurnal variability of local precipitation [PDF]
We investigate how the intensity and spatial distribution of precipitation vary around Lake Malawi on a diurnal timescale, which can be valuable information for water resource management in tropical south-eastern African nations. Using a state-of-the-art

Climatological diurnal variability in sea surface temperature characterized from drifting buoy data [PDF]
Drifting buoy sea-surface temperature (SST) records have been used to characterize the diurnal variability of ocean tem- perature at a depth of order 20 cm.

Accurately representing the precipitation diurnal cycle has long been a challenge for global climate models (GCMs). Here we evaluate the precipitation diurnal cycle in the DYAMOND global convection‐permitting models (CPMs) and CMIP6 HighResMIP models ...

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Sensitivity to horizontal resolution in the AGCM simulations of warm season diurnal cycle of precipitation over the United States and northern Mexico [PDF]
This study examines the sensitivity of the North American warm season diurnal cycle of precipitation to changes in horizontal resolution in three atmospheric general circulation models, with a primary focus on how the parameterized moist processes ...

Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.

Laser‐assisted synthesis of CuPd amorphous/crystalline heterojunction demonstrates >80% Faradaic efficiency for nitrate‐to‐ammonia electroreduction across wide potential windows. The integrated solar‐powered electrolyzer achieves 6% solar‐to‐ammonia energy efficiency at 0.4 sun, 6–20 mg h−1 CO2 capture rate, and stability exceeding 100 h.

Formation of a large scale spot-like structure of the total deposition due to a powerful elevated finite source [PDF]
The process of formation of a large scale spot-like structure of the cumulative deposition pattern due to a powerful elevated finite lifetime source is studied using numerical solutions of a model diffusion problem.
