Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.

Diurnal variation of the potassium layer in the upper atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Measurements of the diurnal cycle of potassium (K) atoms between 80 and 110km have been made during October (for the years 2004–2011) using a Doppler lidar at Kühlungsborn, Germany (54.1°N,11.7°E).

Repeated Disuse Atrophy Imprints a Molecular Memory in Skeletal Muscle: Transcriptional Resilience in Young Adults and Susceptibility in Aged Muscle

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Repeated disuse imprints a molecular memory in skeletal muscle, conferring transcriptional resilience in young adults but exaggerated susceptibility in aged muscle, driven by epigenetic regulation of aerobic metabolism, mitochondrial and NAD+ pathways.

Light-Mediated Population Dynamics of Picocyanobacteria Shaping the Diurnal Patterns of Microbial Communities in an Atoll Lagoon

open access: yesMicroorganisms
The diurnal cycle of light significantly impacts microbes, making diurnal investigations crucial for understanding microbial communities. Zhubi Reef is known to harbor exceptionally rich biodiversity, with both zooplankton and seawater properties ...

Diurnal variation of aerosol optical depth and PM2.5 in South Korea: a synthesis from AERONET, satellite (GOCI), KORUS-AQ observation, and the WRF-Chem model [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
Spatial distribution of diurnal variations of aerosol properties in South Korea, both long term and short term, is studied by using 9 AERONET (AErosol RObotic NETwork) sites from 1999 to 2017 and an additional 10 sites during the KORUS-AQ (Korea ...

A Wood Plasticine With Controlled Phase‐Change Behavior and Malleability for Energy‐Closed‐Loop and Conformally Adaptive Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A photothermal wood plasticine exhibiting controlled phase‐change behavior and malleable property is developed. The developed wood plasticine can provide all‐day, on‐demand, and low‐loss solar heating for geometrically diverse objects, including thermoelectric generator, human body, and battery, through its controlled crystallization‐melting ...
