Asymptotic behavior of the time-dependent divergence exponent

The divergence rate method, which is used to determine the maximum Lyapunov exponent out of time series, is based on the evaluation of the time-dependent divergence exponent. For chaotic systems and in the small time regime, this exponent grows linearly in time.

Here, we present a formal approach to estimating divergence dates derived from aligned DNA sequence data on MRP supertrees, using a new supertree for the Primates as a case study. We selected 40 sequence data sets that conform under various models of sequence evolution to the molecular clock.
