Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Comprehensive assessments of soil quality, plant diversity, and their interrelationships in urban green spaces: a case study in Hangzhou, China

open access: yesCity and Environment Interactions
Soil quality and plant diversity are essential for the health and functioning of urban green spaces (UGS). This study evaluated the soil quality of four UGS types in Hangzhou city using an enhanced Nemerow index based on four physical and seven fertility

Ultradiversification of Diversities

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2020
In this paper, using the idea of ultrametrization of metric spaces we introduce ultradiversification of diversities. We show that every diversity has an ultradiversification which is the greatest nonexpansive ultra-diversity image of it.

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Introducing Concepts of Workforce Diversity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This edited volume highlights relevant issues and solutions for diversity groups within the workplace. It explores issues of identity as they relate to attributes of gender, age, migrant labor, disability, and power in social spaces. Identity is rarely

Like a rolling stone: non-traditional spaces of adult education

open access: yesEuropean Journal for Research on the Education and Learning of Adults, 2016
In this article, I try to explore the squeezing concept of adult education that provides a kind of identity to the field characterised by vagueness, diversity and the links to social justice.

Learning From Critical Collective Spaces: Reflections on the Community-Diversity Dialectic in Safe Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Social and Political Psychology, 2016
Safe spaces have the potential to become prefigurative groups that aim to create social change. The idea of a safe space as a place separate and sheltered from dominant culture to mobilize for social change has gained traction in a number of academic and

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.
