Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Decay properties of spatial molecular orbitals

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
Using properties of the Fourier transform we prove that if a Hartree–Fock molecular spatial orbital is in L1(R3), then it decays to zero as its argument diverges to infinity. The proof is rigorous, elementary and short.

On the Polynomial Solution of Divided-Difference Equations of the Hypergeometric Type on Nonuniform Lattices

open access: yesAxioms, 2019
In this paper, we provide a formal proof of the existence of a polynomial solution of fixed degree for a second-order divided-difference equation of the hypergeometric type on non-uniform lattices, generalizing therefore previous work proving existence ...

Two Waves of Globalisation: Superficial Similarities, Fundamental Differences [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper looks at the two waves of globalisation (roughly 1820-1914 and 1960-present) focusing on key economic facts (trade investment, migration, and capital flows, Industrialisation/de-industrialisation convergence/divergence) beliefs and ...

Expression and DNA methylation of 20S proteasome subunits as prognostic and resistance markers in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Comprehensive analysis of genomic mutations, gene expression, DNA methylation, and pathway analysis of TCGA data was carried out to define cancer types in which proteasome subunits expression is associated with worse survival. Albeit the effect of specific proteasome subunits on cellular function, the main role of the proteasome is better evaluated ...

Data‐driven discovery of gene expression markers distinguishing pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia subtypes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates gene expression differences between two major pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) subtypes, B‐cell precursor ALL, and T‐cell ALL, using a data‐driven approach consisting of biostatistics and machine learning methods. Following analysis of a discovery dataset, we find a set of 14 expression markers differentiating the ...

MicroRNA 196a contributes to the aggressiveness of esophageal adenocarcinoma through the MYC/TERT/NFκB axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mir‐196a promotes Esophagus Adenocarcinoma aggressiveness. On one hand, mir‐196a targets the valosin‐containing protein (VCP) mRNA, causing the accumulation of c‐MYC protein that leads to high amounts of TERT. On the other hand, mir‐196a targets the inhibitor of NFκB (NFKBIA).

On an iterative Moser-Kurchatov method for solving systems of nonlinear equations

open access: yesМатематичні Студії
This paper is devoted to analysis of an iterative method for solving nonlinear equations. The method, inspired by the Kurchatov-type methods, is specifically designed to avoid the need for derivative calculations or inverses of linear operators.

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.
