BUGINESE ETHNOMATHEMATICS: BARONGKO CAKE EXPLORATIONS AS MATHEMATICS LEARNING RESOURCES
Mathematics is still viewed as a culture-free subject. This forms a negative perception for students on mathematics. Most students assume that mathematics and culture are not related.

Reverse Mathematics of Divisibility in Integral Domains [PDF]

This thesis establishes new results concerning the proof-theoretic strength of two classic theorems of Ring Theory relating to factorization in integral domains.

The first theorem asserts that if every irreducible is a prime, then every element has at most one decomposition into irreducibles; the second states ...

Dissipative generators, divisible dynamical maps and Kadison-Schwarz inequality [PDF]
We introduce a concept of Kadison-Schwarz divisible dynamical maps. It turns out that it is a natural generalization of the well known CP-divisibility which characterizes quantum Markovian evolution. It is proved that Kadison-Schwarz divisible maps are fully characterized in terms of time-local dissipative generators. Simple qubit evolution illustrates

Quasi-geometric infinite divisibility [PDF]
The object of this paper is to introduce and study the concept of quasi-geometric infinite divisibility for distributions on $\bf R_+$. These distributions arise as mixing distributions of (discrete) geometric infinitely divisible Poisson mixtures. Several characterizations and closure properties are presented.
