The Effects of 3,5-Dimethylpyrazole on Soil Nitrification and Related Enzyme Activities in Brown Soil

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Heterocyclic nitrogen compounds containing two adjacent nitrogen atoms generally have a significant effect on soil nitrification inhibition, and 3,5-dimethylpyrazole (DMP) is a typical representative of this structure.

Single-Cell Analysis of Host Responses in Bovine Milk Somatic Cells (bMSCs) Following HPAIV Bovine H5N1 Influenza Exposure

open access: yesViruses
The 2024 outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAIV) H5N1 in U.S. dairy cattle presented an unprecedented scenario where the virus infected bovine mammary glands and was detected in milk, raising serious concerns for public health and the

A scalable variational inequality approach for flow through porous media models with pressure-dependent viscosity

open access: yes, 2017
Mathematical models for flow through porous media typically enjoy the so-called maximum principles, which place bounds on the pressure field. It is highly desirable to preserve these bounds on the pressure field in predictive numerical simulations, that ...

Biological sex differences after high and low doses of influenza A virus infection during obesity

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionObesity is an independent risk factor for influenza A virus (IAV) pathogenesis. In non-obese hosts, following IAV infection, adult females develop more severe disease than males.

An Edible H2O2 Biosensor for Gastrointestinal Metabolites and Peroxidase Enzyme Quantification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present an edible biosensor for gastric fluid analysis that integrates a caffeic acid–horseradish peroxidase redox system into an edible electrolyte‐gated transistor. The device enables rapid, low‐volume detection of H2O2 and, with minimal modification, metabolites and enzyme activity in simulated gastrointestinal conditions.

Influences of DMP on the fertilization process and subsequent embryogenesis of abalone (Haliotis diversicolor supertexta) by gametes exposure. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Di-methyl phthalate (DMP), a typical endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC), is ubiquitously distributed in aquatic environments; yet studies regarding its impact on gametes and the resulting effects on embryogenesis in marine gastropods are relatively ...
