DNA-Directed DNA Polymerases Evolve From Reverse Transcriptase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Scientists have been debating for decades the origin of life on earth. A number of hypotheses were proposed as to what emerged first RNA or DNA; with most scientists are in favour of the "RNA World" hypothesis. Assuming RNA emerged first, it fellow that

Filamented Light (FLight) Bioprinting of Mini‐Muscles with Self‐Renewal Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the FLight biofabrication for engineering in vitro muscle constructs by photocrosslinking pristine collagen and fibrinogen using ruthenium. The resulting mini‐muscles retain in vivo‐like tissue organization and a Pax7⁺ cell pool.
