Multiplex giant magnetoresistive biosensor microarrays identify interferon-associated autoantibodies in systemic lupus erythematosus. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
High titer, class-switched autoantibodies are a hallmark of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Dysregulation of the interferon (IFN) pathway is observed in individuals with active SLE, although the association of specific autoantibodies with chemokine ...

Electrochemical DNA biosensor for the detection of trichoderma harzianum based on agold electrode modified with a composite membrane made from an ionic liquid, ZnO nanoparticles and chitosan, and by using acridine orange as a redox indicator. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An electrochemical DNA biosensor was developed that is based on a gold electrode modified with a nanocomposite membrane made from an ionic liquid, ZnO nanoparticles and chitosan. A single-stranded DNA probe was immobilized on this electrode.

Development of a Highly Sensitive SPR Biosensor for BCR–ABL Gene Sequence Detection Using a Novel Gold Nanoparticle–Enhanced Sandwich Assay Format

open access: yesMicromachines
SPR (surface plasmon resonance) biosensor–based analytical methods enable rapid, straightforward, and cost-effective detection of DNA oligonucleotides. However, the detection limits of currently available SPR biosensors for BCR–ABL gene oligonucleotides ...

Electrochemical Aptasensor for Detection of Dopamine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This work presents a proof of concept of a novel, simple, and sensitive method of detection of dopamine, a neurotransmitter within the human brain. We propose a simple electrochemical method for the detection of dopamine using a dopamine-specific aptamer

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

DNA nucleotide-specific modulation of \mu A transverse edge currents through a metallic graphene nanoribbon with a nanopore

open access: yes, 2011
We propose two-terminal devices for DNA sequencing which consist of a metallic graphene nanoribbon with zigzag edges (ZGNR) and a nanopore in its interior through which the DNA molecule is translocated.
