An integrated strategy for target SSR genotyping with toleration of nucleotide variations in the SSRs and flanking regions

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2021
Background With the broad application of high-throughput sequencing and its reduced cost, simple sequence repeat (SSR) genotyping by sequencing (SSR-GBS) has been widely used for interpreting genetic data across different fields, including population ...

DNA, Data and Ethics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The biophysical differences between different kinds of DNA data banks are described. The different ethical implications of DNA fingerprint data banks, data banks of known gene sequences, and data banks of total genomic sequences are considered.

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Quantum Dot‐Polymer Architectures by Two‐Photon Polymerization: From 4D Microfabrication to Quantum Light Sources

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
2PP of photopolymers containing QDs is an advanced fabrication strategy for creating innovative devices at various scales. The development of reliable protocols for the homogeneous integration of QDs into photopolymers, along with precise control over the optical phenomena occurring during 2PP, enables the realization of structures ranging from 4D ...

Exploring differentially expressed genes associated with fertility instability of S-type cytoplasmic male-sterility in maize by RNA-seq

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2017
: The germplasm resources for the S-type male sterility is rich in maize and it is resistant to Bipolaris maydis race T and CI, but the commercial application of S-type cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS-S) in maize hybrid industry is greatly compromised ...
