An introduction for multidrive and environment‐adaptive micro/nanorobotics: design and fabrication strategies, intelligent actuation, and their applications. Various intelligent actuation approaches—magnetic, acoustic, optical, chemical, and biological—can be synergistically designed to enhance flexibility and adaptive behavior for precision medicine ...

We have developed a system which fully automates the process of membrane-immobilized DNA hybridization. The system consists of three major parts: (i) a membrane-processing cassette which is thermo-controlled and which can hold multiple membranes simultaneously; (ii) a fluidic system which consists of seven independent input channels, a collecting waste

Interest in nucleic acid hybridization stems mainly from its great power as a tool in biological research. It is used in several quite distinct ways. Because of the high degree of specificity that they show, hybridization techniques can be used to measure the amount of one specific sequence within a very heterogeneous mixture of sequences.

Complementary DNA-DNA hybridization in Drosophila
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1992We have performed DNA-DNA hybridization experiments among several species of Drosophila using the evolutionarily conserved portion of the genome representing sequences coding for amino acids of proteins. This was done by using as tracer, radioactively labeled complementary DNA that was reverse transcribed from adult mRNA.

Potentiometric monitoring DNA hybridization
Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2009The usual procedure to monitor the ion exchange of small ions utilizes a potentiometer with a selective membrane as part of the working electrode. As the next step, we have applied polyaniline electrodes to the monitoring the activity macromolecular ions during DNA hybridization.

Cellulose/DNA Hybrid Nanomaterials
Biomacromolecules, 2009Cellulose nanocrystals (CNXLs) have drawn attention from researchers for their remarkable reinforcing abilities and excellent mechanical properties. CNXLs typically have high aspect ratios of around 20-50 (length/width), low density of around 1.6 g/cc, high stiffness (135 to 155 GPa), and strength (estimated at 7500 MPa).

ABSTRACT The kinetics of ideal DNA-RNA hybridization reactions are described, and some deviations from ideal behaviour are noted. The characteristics of RNA excess and DNA excess reactions are described, and different approaches to experimental situations are discussed.
