Loop-mediated isothermal amplification of DNA.

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2000
We have developed a novel method, termed loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), that amplifies DNA with high specificity, efficiency and rapidity under isothermal conditions.

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

Identification of MADS-box Gene in Oil Palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)

open access: yesMakara Journal of Science, 2016
The bunch size represented by the fruit number is the main parameter of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) yield. The fruit number, which is determined during the initial phase of development, is related to various factors, including the genetic ...

DNA polymerase V activity is autoregulated by a novel intrinsic DNA-dependent ATPase [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Escherichia coli DNA polymerase V (pol V), a heterotrimeric complex composed of UmuD'2C, is marginally active. ATP and RecA play essential roles in the activation of pol V for DNA synthesis including translesion synthesis (TLS). We have established three features of the roles of ATP and RecA.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Nucleotide insertion initiated by van der Waals interaction during polymerase beta DNA replication [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Sci. 125 (2013) 1223, 2011
We give unambiguous theoretical analyses and show that the exclusive biochemical reaction involved in a single nucleotide insertion into the DNA primer can be efficiently tracked using the renormalized van der Waals (vdW) interaction of a stronger type, the Hermansson blue-shifting hydrogen bond effect, and the Arunan composite hydrogen-vdW bond.

Caracterização de isolados de Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A simple, quick and easy protocol was standardized for extraction of total DNA of the bacteria Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli. The DNA obtained by this method had high quality and the quantity was enough for the Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA ...
