Comprehensive Molecular Genetic Diagnostics of Birt-Hogg-Dube Syndrome in a Russian Patient with Renal Cancer and Lung Cysts: A Case Report

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2021
We report a case of Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome (BHDS), a rare hereditary syndrome, the main visible sign of which is the development of multiple skin fibrofolliculomas.

A universal framework to efficiently share material and process resources in the DNA construction world [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
DNA constructs and their annotated sequence maps have been rapidly accumulating with the advancement of DNA cloning, synthesis, and assembly methods. Such a resource has the potential to be optimally utilized in an autonomous DNA building platform. However, most DNA design processes today remain manually operated with the assistance of graphical user ...

Elucidation of interface interactions between a dehydratase domain and an acyl carrier protein in cremimycin polyketide synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In modular polyketide synthases, the dehydratase (DH) domain catalyzes the dehydration reaction of the β‐hydroxyacyl unit attached to the cognate acyl carrier protein (ACP) domain. However, it is unclear how DH interacts with ACP during the reaction. In this study, we identified DH–ACP interface residues, providing the first detailed insights into DH ...

The Ability of Lytic Staphylococcal Podovirus vB_SauP_phiAGO1.3 to Coexist in Equilibrium With Its Host Facilitates the Selection of Host Mutants of Attenuated Virulence but Does Not Preclude the Phage Antistaphylococcal Activity in a Nematode Infection Model

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
Phage vB_SauP_phiAGO1.3 (phiAGO1.3) is a polyvalent Staphylococcus lytic podovirus with a 17.6-kb genome (Gozdek et al., 2018). It can infect most of the Staphylococcus aureus human isolates of dominant clonal complexes.

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

Two divergent Symbiodinium genomes reveal conservation of a gene cluster for sunscreen biosynthesis and recently lost genes

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2018
Background The marine dinoflagellate, Symbiodinium, is a well-known photosynthetic partner for coral and other diverse, non-photosynthetic hosts in subtropical and tropical shallows, where it comprises an essential component of marine ecosystems.

DNA SEQUENCE PATTERNS

open access: yesNature Precedings, 2010
AbstractThere is significance in the molecular weight derived sequence patterns of adenosine, guanosine, cytosine, thymine, methyl cytosine and hydroxyl methyl cytosine if one has to consider the molecular events holistically by including single nucleotide polymorphisms, tumor suppressor gene activity like that of ten eleven translocation gene, CpG ...

Structural and mechanistic basis for the regulation of the chloroplast signal recognition particle by (p)ppGpp

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LHCPs are transported to the thylakoid membrane via the (cp)SRP pathway. This process involves a transit complex of (cp)SRP43, (cp)SRP54 and LHCP, which interacts with (cp)FtsY and Alb3 at the membrane. GTP hydrolysis by (cp)SRP54 and (cp)FtsY triggers complex dissociation.
