Domination and Ergodicity for Positive Semigroups [PDF]
In this note we study the conditions under which ergodicity is preserved by domination. As an application, the criterion for almost periodicity given by Ljubich-Phong [9] (see also Batty-Phong [4]) can be simplified for positive semigroups.

Abuse of a Dominant Position: Cases and Experiments [PDF]
Article 82 of the EC Treaty states that any abuse of a dominant position is prohibited, and mentions four examples of abuses: (i) directly or indirectly imposing unfair prices or other unfair trading conditions; (ii) limiting production or development to the prejudice of consumers; (iii) unequal treatment of trading parties, thereby placing some at a ...

Positional Dominance: Concepts and Algorithms [PDF]
Centrality indices assign values to the vertices of a graph such that vertices with higher values are considered more central. Triggered by a recent result on the preservation of the vicinal preorder in rankings obtained from common centrality indices, we review and extend notions of domination among vertices. These may serve as building blocks for new

Optimizing positively dominated systems [PDF]
It has recently been shown that several classical open problems in linear system theory, such as optimization of decentralized output feedback controllers, can be readily solved for positive systems using linear programming. In particular, optimal solutions can be verified for large-scale systems using computations that scale linearly with the number ...

A Competitive Fringe in the Shadow of a State Owned Incumbent: The Case of France [PDF]
We examine what kind of competitive fringe has been built in France around the State owned incumbent without destroying it or significantly weakening its dominant position; what impacts has this particular reform process on the market in which the ...

Dominant market position and ordoliberalism [PDF]
The ordoliberal distinction between performance competition and impediment competition may improve the understanding of the European distinction between a “dominant position” and an “abuse” of that position. Using a simple game-theory framework, I illustrate the dominant firm as a firm with, among other things, a dominant strategy in performance ...
