ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

Lung Donation after Cardiac Death of Recent Heart Transplant Recipient

open access: yes, 2009
In June 2008, Gift of Life Michigan was notified of a potential donor. After the initial chart review, it was determined that the patient would be a candidate for donation after cardiac death.

Lactiplantibacillus Plantarum GUANKE Alleviates Allergic Asthma by Restricting Monocyte‐to‐DC Differentiation Via Microbiota‐Associated IAA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum GUANKE remodels the indigenous gut microbiota and is associated with microbiota‐dependent restoration of circulating IAA. IAA treatment attenuates JAK3‐STAT3 and Jag1‐Notch4‐Hey1 signaling and reduces CX3CR1+Ly6C− monocytic precursor generation and pulmonary CD11b+ DC accumulation, together with reduced Th2 inflammation ...

Ultrasound‐Responsive Piezoelectric Fibrous Membrane Promotes Neurological Recovery After TBI by Modulating Microglial Polarization via Restoring Mitochondrial Dynamic Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a novel therapy for traumatic brain injury TBI using a LIPUS‐responsive Piezoelectric fibrous membrane. It targets microglial mitochondria via in situ electrical signals, restoring homeostasis and reducing oxidative stress to promote an anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotype.

Cardiac allograft vasculopathy outcomes among donation after circulatory death heart transplant recipients

open access: yesJHLT Open
Background: Cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) accounts for significant long-term morbidity and mortality in heart transplant recipients; limited data exist for donation after circulatory death (DCD).

Multidimensional and Multifunctional Laser‐Induced Graphene (LIG) for Point‐of‐Care and Wearable Biosensing, Theranostics, and Bioactive Interfaces Toward Personalized Healthcare and Regenerative Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multidimensional laser‐induced graphene (LIG) spanning from 0D to 3D architectures is comprehensively reviewed for multifunctional biomedical platforms, including biosensing, theranostics, and bioactive interface applications, which highlights its potentials for point‐of‐care diagnostics, wearable health monitoring, smart drug delivery, and tissue ...

Pasta, a Versatile Transcriptomic Clock, Maps the Chemical and Genetic Determinants of Aging and Rejuvenation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pasta is a transcriptomic aging clock built on an age‐shift learning framework and trained on 17 000 samples across 21 datasets. It accurately predicts relative biological age across tissues, platforms, and species, captures stemness‐to‐senescence transitions, and identifies age‐modulatory perturbations.

Unlocking the potential of uncontrolled DCD in lung transplantation: A review of 2 decades of experience

open access: yesJHLT Open
Uncontrolled donation after circulatory death (uDCD) represents a promising yet underutilized approach to expanding the lung donor pool amid persistent organ shortages. Since the first successful lung transplantation from a uDCD donor in 2001, increasing

History of Organ Donation by Patients With Cardiac Death

open access: yes, 1993
When successful solid organ transplantation was initiated almost 40 years ago, its current success rate was not anticipated. But continuous efforts were undertaken to overcome the two major obstacles to success: injury caused by interrupting nutrient ...
