GEOLOGICAL AND GEOTECTONIC UNITY OF THE DONETS BASIN AND THE DNIPROV-DONETS FALLS
Mining Geology & Geoecology, 2022On the basis of medium-scale mapping of the pre-Mesozoic surface of Donbas and the southeastern part of the DDZ, the use of the results of seismostratigraphic and gravimetric works, the analysis of scientific research, publications and innovative hypotheses, the geological and geotectonic unity of Donbas and the DDZ is substantiated.

The Donets Basin (Ukraine/Russia): coalification and thermal history
International Journal of Coal Geology, 2002The Donets Basin (Donbas) is one of the major late Paleozoic coal basins in the world. The Donbas Foldbelt is an inverted part of the Donets Basin characterized by WNW-ESE-trending folds and faults. The age of basin inversion is under discussion. Large parts of the Donets Basin host anthracite and meta-anthracite.

TECTONIC INVERSION OF THE DNIEPER-DONETS BASIN
2021The structural deformations of the sedimentary cover of the Dnieper-Donets basin (DDB) of the stages of platform tectonic activation in the zone of its articulation with the Donets Foldbelt (DF) were studied. Based on the structural analysis of the geocarting materials of the territory of the Western Donets Graben (WDG), using field definitions of the ...

The Donbas Foldbelt (DF) is a thrust-faulted and folded, inverted, segment of the Dniepr-Donets Basin (DDB). It lies between the Scythian and East European platforms north of the Black Sea and is conventionally thought to have formed in the Early Permian as part of the late Palaeozoic Hercynian-Uralian orogenic frame of cratonic Europe.

MONITORING THE COAL WASTE HEAPS OF MINES OF DONETS BASIN

Gas Content and Structure of Coal in Donets Basin
Journal of Mining Science, 2018The integrated study of coal is performed using methods of optical and electron paramagnetic resonances, infrared spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. It is found that gas content of coal is governed by the rank of coal and its material constitution as well as by the coal bed structure at the macro-, micro- and nano-levels which interwork.

Dnieper Donets Rift Basin, Ukraine - Post-rift evolution
Proceedings, 1996The investigations were grounded on complex interpretation of regional seismic profiles, well data and numeric modelling. The main stage of the rifting in the DD basin lasted 7-10 My during the Frasnian and Fanennian stages of the Late Devonian. Post-rift Carboniferous, Permian and Mesozoic sediments cover the rift flanks and increase in thickness ...

Paleozoic Source Rocks in the Dniepr-Donets Basin, Ukraine
71st EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2009, 2009The Dniepr-Donets Basin (DDB) is a major hydrocarbon province in eastern Europe. Moreover organic-rich sediments in the DDB may offer a shale gas potential. However, only limited data on source rocks are available.

Ecologically hazardous elements in coals of the Donets Basin
International Journal of Coal Geology, 1999Abstract The coals from the Donets Basin are widely used in electric power plants (EPP). These, together with air pollutants generated by other industrial enterprises create a hazardous situation in the densely populated region of the Basin. Together with sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and solid particulates the emissions contain very toxic, noxious ...
