Studies of coal balls of the donets basin

Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology, 1972
Coal balls are known in two coal basins of the Soviet Union viz. Donets (Middle Carboniferous) and Kuznets (Upper Permian). Coal balls are widespread in the Donets basin from Westfalian A to Westfalian D. Almost all the types described for America are represented. Plant remains in coal balls belong to different groups of plants — lycopods, articulates,

Basin evolution and coal geology of the Donets Basin (Ukraine, Russia): An overview

International Journal of Coal Geology, 2012
Abstract The Donets Basin is a major coal-mining district in eastern Ukraine and adjacent portions of Russia. It comprises the Donbas Foldbelt, which is the uplifted and compressionally deformed part of the Pripyat–Dniepr–Donets (PDD) Basin, and the significantly less deformed Western Donbas region.

Magmatism and Stages of the Tectonic Evolution in the Donets Folded Structure, Eastern Donets Basin

Geotectonics, 2018
The structure of the Donets Folded Structure underwent a complicated evolution, which included stages of extension, the origin of rift troughs, compression, collision, inversion uplifts, orogenesis, and stages of stabilization and neotectonic reactivation. The paper presents data on the regional tectono-stratigraphic Late Proterozoic–Cenozoic complexes

Late Moscovian fusulinids from the “N” Formation (Donets Basin, Ukraine)

Journal of Paleontology, 2013
A fusulinoidean taxonomic study of the Gurkovo and Kalinovo sections allows us to refine the biostratigraphy of the poorly studied Myachkovian (upper Moscovian) strata of the “N” Formation in the Donets Basin. Three fusulinid biozones,Hemifusulina graciosa–Fusiella spatiosa,Fusulina cylindrica–Fusulinella pseudobocki, andFusulinella?kumpani, are ...

Strike-slip Faulting and Block Rotations in the Donets Basin

Proceedings, 2008
Although abnormal tectonic evolution of the Donbas segment within the Pripyat-Dnieper-Donets-Karpinsky (PDDK) palaerift has been long time recognized and studied, the driving mechanisms and mechanics of the basin uplift and inversion remain poorly understood.

RELATIONSHIPS IN THE METAMORPHISM OF THE DONETS-BASIN COALS

International Geology Review, 1963
The degree of metamorphism in the Donets Basin coals increases from stratigraphically higher horizons to the lower ones. Also the change is gradual and in .any given seam runs parallel to the thickness of the coal-bearing strata from west to east and from the edge to the center.

Bashkirian conodonts of the Donets Basin, Ukraine

1999
The present study reports upon the conodont fauna of the Upper Serpukhovian through Lower Moscovian of the Donets Basin, Ukraine. Three new species are described: Declinognathodus? pseudolateralis, Idiognathodus praedelicatus and Idiognathoides postsulcatus.

Structure, properties, and use of anthracites of the Donets Basin

Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2010
General characterization of anthracites of the Donetsk Basin (Donbas) in general and their specific features in the Eastern (Russian) Donbas are given, and data on their chemical composition, structure, and properties depending on the degree of metamorphism are presented, as well as correlation between different indicators of the metamorphic rank. New data on the Carboniferous corals of the Donets Basin

Palaeoworld, 2010
Abstract Additional data are given here on the taxonomic diversity and distribution of the Carboniferous rugose and tabulate corals of the Donets Basin (Ukraine). Keyserlingophyllum obliquum (Keyserling, 1846) was recorded in the Tournaisian part of the section for the first time.
