Structural, Morphological and Thermoluminescence Properties of Mn-Doped Zinc Zirconate (ZnZrO3) Phosphors

open access: yesApplied Sciences
We investigated the thermoluminescence (TL) properties of Mn-doped zinc zirconate (ZnZrO3:Mn) phosphors under beta (β) radiation. SEM revealed morphological changes with varying levels of Mn doping (0–5%), while XRD confirmed a pure cubic phase.

Effect of Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin Oxide on Reactivity and Durability of Perovskite Oxygen Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This table of contents illustrates that the mechanism for mitigating Sr segregation depends strongly on the chemistry of the coating layer. HfO2 electrostatically stabilizes the surface by lowering the surface oxygen vacancies, which serve as the driving force for Sr migration. On the other hand, Al2O3 and Fe2O3 react with segregated Sr to form Sr‐Al‐O

Defect Engineering and Na-Ion Transport in NaMnPO4: A Computational Perspective

open access: yesElectrochem
Rechargeable sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted considerable attention owing to the natural abundance and accessibility of sodium. Maricite NaMnPO4, a phosphate-based cathode material with high theoretical capacity, suffers from blocked sodium ...

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Nanocrystalline Ceramics Close to Stoichiometric MgAl2O4—Overview and Comparison of Traditional Manufacturing Processes with Crystallization Processes at High Pressure

open access: yesCeramics
Three processes for the production of ceramics close to stoichiometric MgAl2O4 are benchmarked against each other. The traditional ceramic route is based on mostly crystalline starting powder, which is converted into ceramic via shaping and heat ...

Porosity Engineering of MXene Architectures: Toward High‐Performance Aqueous Electrochemical Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically summarizes recent advances in porosity engineering of MXenes, with a focused discussion on their structure‐governed energy storage properties. A critical analysis of structure–property relationships is presented across alkali‐ion batteries, multivalent‐ion batteries, and supercapacitors.

Estudio del perfil de defectos y de las propiedades eléctricas de BaTiO3 dopado con Nb y La

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2002
The aim of this work is to study the impact of two different and typical donor –dopants; Nb2O5 and La2O3, on the electrical properties of BaTiO3. Besides, the influence of Nb5+ and La3+ on the charge compensation mechanism was evaluated.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Universal Conductance Fluctuations in Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Universal conductance fluctuations are observed in mesoscopic quantum anomalous Hall insulators. Two distinct fluctuation patterns are identified, arising from different interference processes of bulk and chiral edge states, respectively. These findings unveil rich quantum interference phenomena in quantum anomalous Hall insulators and provide insights
