Doppler-shift oscillations in solar spicules [PDF]
Consecutive height series of Ha spectra in solar limb spicules taken on the 53 cm coronagraph of Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory at the heights of 3800-8700 km above the photosphere have been analyzed. The aim is to observe oscillatory phenomena in spicules and consequently to trace wave propagations through the chromosphere.

UltraDigit: An ultrasound signal‐based in‐air digit input system via transfer learning
With the popularity of smart devices, people pay more attention to the experience of text input. The authors propose an in‐air digit input system, namely UltraDigit, which enables users to input digits in the air using acoustic signal via transfer ...

Innovative Multi-Target Estimating with Clutter-Suppression Technique for Pulsed Radar Systems
Linear frequency modulation (LFM) waveforms have high Doppler-shift endurance because of the relative wide modulation bandwidth to the Doppler variation. The Doppler shift of the moving objects, nevertheless, constantly introduces obscure detection range

Optical Doppler shift with structured light [PDF]
When a light beam with a transverse spatially varying phase is considered for optical remote sensing, in addition to the usual longitudinal Doppler frequency shift of the returned signal induced by the motion of the scatter along the beam axis, a new transversal Doppler shift appears associated to the motion of the scatterer in the plane perpendicular ...

Doppler shift of hot coronal lines in a moss area of an active region [PDF]
The moss is the area at the footpoint of the hot (3 to 5 MK) loops forming the core of the active region where emission is believed to result from the heat flux conducted down to the transition region from the hot loops. Studying the variation of Doppler

Time-delay and Doppler tests of the Lorentz symmetry of gravity [PDF]
Modifications to the classic time-delay effect and Doppler shift in General Relativity (GR) are studied in the context of the Lorentz-violating Standard-Model Extension (SME).

Einstein Shift and Doppler Shift [PDF]
IN answer to Sir Oliver Lodge's question (NATURE, December 26, p. 938), it depends on our point of view whether the Einstein shift is considered to be imposed on the light at its origin or in course of transit to us. We cannot state the frequency of the ether vibrations without presupposing a system of time-reckoning, and in the non-Euclidean region ...

Current-Induced Spin-Wave Doppler Shift [PDF]
Spin transfer appears to be a promising tool for improving spintronics devices. Experiments that quantitatively access the magnitude of the spin transfer are required for a fundamental understanding of this phenomenon. By inductively measuring spin waves propagating along a permalloy strip subjected to a large electrical current, we observed a current ...
