Effect of Hydrogen Cyanamide (Dormex) on Replacing Lack of Chilling in Kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1995
It has been shown that the `Hayward' kiwifruit requires ≈1000 chilling hours for satisfactory production of female flowers, leading to full cropping in the southeastern United States. Part of the area along the Gulf Coast frequently suffers from inadequate winter chilling, resulting in poor cropping of `Hayward'.

Cyanamide-Induced Hepatotoxicity and the Potential Protective Role of Pomegranate Seed Extract in Adult Male Albino Rats [PDF]

open access: yesAin Shams Journal of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology, 2018
Background: Dormex, which is used as agricultural fertilizer, contains cyanamide as an active ingredient. Pomegranate fruits enclose numerous polyphenols that guard normal cells against oxidative stress.

EFFECT OF HYDROGEN CYANAMIDE (DORMEX) ON REPLACING LACK OF CHILLING IN 'RUSTON RED' PEACH [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1993
Inadequate winter chilling periodically becomes a serious problem for the commercial peach industry in the Southeast, especially along the Gulf Coast. A number of countries around the world are using hydrogen cyanamide (Dormex-SKW) to replace lack of chilling in peaches and other fruit plants. Studies were conducted over 3 years (1990-1992) to evaluate

Alternative budburst management in Campanha Gaúcha vineyards [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Fruticultura, 2020
Seeking a less toxic alternative to budburst management than hydrogen cyanamide, doses of the mineral-organic product Erger® were tested in combination with calcium nitrate (Ca(NO3)2).

TIMING APPLICATION OF HYDROGEN CYANAMIDE (DORMEX) TO PEACH TREES USING A MODIFIED CHILLING MODEL [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1995
This multifaceted study was conducted over the past 6 years in Alabama to determine the efficacy of using hydrogen cyanamide to replace lack of chilling in peaches and to develop a working chilling model to allow proper timing of application. Several timings (0%, 25%, 50%, and 75% chilling accumulation) for each chilling level and rates (0%, 0.5%, 1.0%,
