SPIN FILTERING IN THE DOUBLE-BARRIER STRUCTURE

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2005
In this paper, we study the electron transport properties in the double non-collinear δ-magnetic barriers within 2-dimensional electron gas. We find that the transmission of spin current depends on the relative orientation of each magnetic barrier. In addition to the well-known unpolarized configurations in an antiparallel magnetic barrier structure ...

Theory of Tunneling in Double Barrier

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1991
Electron tunneling through a double barrier separated by a quantum well is studied. We find that the tunneling current is described as the sum of the contributions of two distinct processes. One is due to the coherent tunneling, and the other is a sequential one in which the phase coherence of the electron wave is destroyed between two tunneling steps.

The double-humped fission barrier

Reviews of Modern Physics, 1980
The concept of the double-humped fission barrier of actinide nuclei has made possible an understanding of a vast amount of data on nuclear fission during the past decade. In this article the analysis of most available relevant data is reviewed, and a synthesis of the fission barrier parameters and their trends over the actinide region is built up.

EFFICIENT EVALUATION OF DOUBLE-BARRIER OPTIONS

International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance
In the paper, we develop a very fast and accurate method for pricing double barrier options with continuous monitoring in wide classes of Lévy models; the calculations are in the dual space, and the Wiener–Hopf factorization is used. For wide regions in the parameter space, the precision of the order of [Formula: see text] is achievable in seconds ...

A Double-Barrier-Emitter Triangular-Barrier Optoelectronic Switch

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 2004
In this study, a triangular-barrier and a double-barrier structure are combined to form a double-barrier-emitter triangular-barrier optoelectronic switch (DTOS). In the structure center of the triangular barrier, a p-type delta-doped quantum well is inserted to enhance the hole confinement.

Sub-barrier fission probability for a double-humped barrier

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical, Nuclear and General, 1974
The interpretation of data on the decay of actinide nuclei by the fission process at excitation energies below the fission barrier is considered. It is shown that the intermediate structure (class-II levels), introduced into the fission strength function by the presence of a secondary well in the potential energy of deformation through the fission ...

Transit and Reflection Times for a Non-Symmetric Barrier and a Symmetric Double Barrier

Physica Scripta, 2003
Summary: Many calculations of transit and reflection times focus on symmetric barriers in which the dwell time equals the Larmor precession time. We show for a nonsymmetric barrier that this is not generally true and that all the characteristic transmission and reflection times (except the phase time) are finite for all ranges of the incident momentum.

Transport of Interacting Electrons through a Double Barrier

Physica E: Low-dimensional Systems and Nanostructures, 2004
We generalize the fermionic renormalization group method to describe analytically transport through a double barrier structure in a one-dimensional system. Focusing on the case of weakly interacting electrons, we investigate thoroughly the dependence of the conductance on the strength and the shape of the double barrier for arbitrary temperature T. Our

Double-Barrier Resonant-Tunneling

1995
Within the independent-electron model, the physics of quantum transport through a unipolar double-barrier resonant-tunneling structure with perfect interfaces has been analyzed in details. Based on these understandings, the theoretical modelling of efficient resonant-tunneling light-emitting diodes based on bipolar structures was demonstrated as an ...
