Tunneling in Double Barrier Junctions with “Hot Spots” [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2010
We investigate electronic transport in epitaxial Fe(100)/MgO/Fe/MgO/Fe double magnetic tunnel junctions with soft barrier breakdown (hot spots). Specificity of these junctions are continious middle layer and Nitrogen doping of the MgO barriers which provides soft breakdown at biases about 0.5V.

All-Graphene Planar Double Barrier Resonant Tunneling Diodes

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2014
In this work, we propose an atomically-thin all-graphene planar double barrier resonant tunneling diode that can be realized within a single graphene nanoribbon.

Parabolic–Gaussian Double Quantum Wells under a Nonresonant Intense Laser Field

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
In this paper, we investigate the electronic and optical properties of an electron in both symmetric and asymmetric double quantum wells that consist of a harmonic potential with an internal Gaussian barrier under a nonresonant intense laser field.

Penetration of a double barrier

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1969
Abstract The Hill-Wheeler penetration formula is generalized to the cases where the potential takes the form of (1) two inverted parabolas joined together and (2) a parabola joined at each end by two inverted parabolas. The implications on the determination of fission barriers are discussed.

DIGITAL DOUBLE BARRIER OPTIONS: SEVERAL BARRIER PERIODS AND STRUCTURE FLOORS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, 2013
We determine the price of digital double barrier options with an arbitrary number of barrier periods in the Black–Scholes model. This means that the barriers are active during some time intervals, but are switched off in between. As an application, we calculate the value of a structure floor for structured notes whose individual coupons are digital ...

Low bias electron transport properties of the graphene-Ge2Sb2Te5 heterostructure device

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
We explore the performance improvement of ultra-scaled phase-change memory (PCM) device with graphene- Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) heterostructure by means of first-principle simulations of electron transport.

Barrier resistance of double layer isolation gowns [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Infection Control, 2021
Isolation gowns are one of the crucial pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the migration of microorganisms and body fluids from patients to health care personnel and vice versa. Underperforming isolation gowns in terms of fluid resistance, could potentially put lives in danger.

Double barrier reflected BSDEs with stochastic Lipschitz coefficient

open access: yesModern Stochastics: Theory and Applications, 2017
This paper proves the existence and uniqueness of a solution to doubly reflected backward stochastic differential equations where the coefficient is stochastic Lipschitz, by means of the penalization method.

The Double Barrier Problem With Double Exponential Jump Diffusion

open access: yesCommunications on Stochastic Analysis, 2017
Summary: We consider a perturbed double exponential jump diffusion process which starts at a fixed level \(u > 0\). We derive an integral equation, an integro-differential equation, and a general form for the probability that the double exponential jump diffusion process reaches a fixed level \(b > u\) before it ruins.

Pillar design and coal burst experience in Utah Book Cliffs longwall operations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2021
Longwall mining has existed in Utah for more than half a century. Much of this mining occurred at depths of cover that significantly exceed those encountered by most other US longwall operations.
