Machine Learning‐Assisted KCl‐CaCl2‐LiCl Electrolyte Design for Low‐Temperature, High‐Performance Calcium‐Based Liquid Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐assisted framework optimizes the KCl‐CaCl2‐LiCl ternary electrolyte. The optimized 13:35:52 mol% composition enables Ca‐based liquid metal batteries to operate stably at 480 °C, with >99.5% coulombic efficiency, ultralow self‐discharge, and excellent cycling stability, advancing low‐temperature large‐scale energy storage.

Evaluation of a Modified Double-Disc Synergy Test for Detection of Extended Spectrum β-Lactamases in AmpC β-Lactamase-Producing Proteus mirabilis [PDF]

open access: yesIndian Journal of Medical Microbiology, 2008
The detection of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) in gram-negative bacteria that produce AmpC β-lactamases is problematic. In the present study, the performance of modified double-disc synergy test (MDDST) that employs a combination of cefepime and

Effectiveness of Double Discs Synergy Test in the Confirmation of Extended Spectrum β-lactamase (ESβL) Production

Journal of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2018
Extended spectrum beta lactamases (ESβLs) are enzymes which have evolved from bacteria upon exposure to penicillins antibiotics. Such bacteria have developed resistance to Beta lactam antibiotics and their relatives such as cephalosporins (extended spectrum beta lactam antibiotics).
