Investigation of an Output Voltage Harmonic Suppression Strategy of a Power Quality Control Device for the High-End Manufacturing Industry

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
Due to the influence of nonlinear loads, power quality control devices under the traditional double closed-loop control strategy suffer from a large output voltage harmonic distortion rate and a slow harmonic suppression response and cannot meet the high-

In Incognito: The Principle of Double Effect in American Constitutional Law [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
: In Vacco v. Quill, 521 U.S. 793 (1997), the Supreme Court for the first time in American case law explicitly applied the principle of double effect to reject an equal protection claim to physician-assisted suicide.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Double Acceptor Interaction in Semimagnetic Quantum Dot [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2011
The effect of geometry of the semimagnetic Quantum Dot on the Interaction energy of a double acceptor is computed in the effective mass approximation using the variational principle.

Novel Adaptive Hierarchical Sliding Mode Control for Trajectory Tracking and Load Sway Rejection in Double-Pendulum Overhead Cranes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Overhead cranes with double-pendulum effect seem more practical than those with single-pendulum effect. However, in this case, the dynamic performance analysis and the controller design become more difficult.

Deep Inelastic Scattering and Gauge/String Duality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We study deep inelastic scattering in gauge theories which have dual string descriptions. As a function of $gN$ we find a transition. For small $gN$, the dominant operators in the OPE are the usual ones, of approximate twist two, corresponding to ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Case Report: Case report: Administration of anticoagulant therapy after neuro-anesthesia procedure for hemorrhagic stroke patients with COVID-19 complications and its ethical and medicolegal consideration [version 2; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2023
Background Ethical dilemmas can occur in any situation in clinical medicine. In patients undergoing neuro-anesthesia for surgical procedure evacuation of intracerebral hemorrhage with a history of hemorrhagic stroke, anticoagulants should not be given ...

The Principle of Double Effect: Act-Types and Intentions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Objections to the principle of double effect usually concern its first and second conditions (that the act not be evil in itself, and that the good effect and not the evil effect be intended).

The LPM effect in sequential bremsstrahlung [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The splitting processes of bremsstrahlung and pair production in a medium are coherent over large distances in the very high energy limit, which leads to a suppression known as the Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal (LPM) effect.
