A criança e a prosódia: uma retrospectiva e novos desenvolvimentos

open access: yesCadernos de Estudos Lingüísticos, 2011
This is a retrospective of my former work on the acquisition of prosody and specifically the role of the double face of prosody in acquisition is revisited.

Double-sided solar cell package [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
In a solar cell array of terrestrial use, an improved double-sided solar cell package, consisting of a photovoltaic cell having a metallized P-contact strip and an N-contact grid, provided on opposite faces of the cell, a transparent tubular body forming

Dispersively detected Pauli Spin-Blockade in a Silicon Nanowire Field-Effect Transistor

open access: yes, 2015
We report the dispersive readout of the spin state of a double quantum dot formed at the corner states of a silicon nanowire field-effect transistor. Two face-to-face top-gate electrodes allow us to independently tune the charge occupation of the quantum

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Effective field theory analysis of 3D random field Ising model on isometric lattices

open access: yes, 2011
Ising model with quenched random magnetic fields is examined for single Gaussian, bimodal and double Gaussian random field distributions by introducing an effective field approximation that takes into account the correlations between different spins that

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

High order WKB prediction of the energy splitting in the symmetric double well potential

open access: yes, 2000
The accuracy of the WKB approximation when predicting the energy splitting of bound states in a double well potential is the main subject of this paper.

Particle creation and non-adiabatic transitions in quantum cosmology [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The aim of this paper is to compute transitions amplitudes in quantum cosmology, and in particular pair creation amplitudes and radiative transitions. To this end, we apply a double adiabatic development to the solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...
