Electronic shear interferometry: application of a (double-) pulsed laser

Applied Optics, 1993
The use of a double-pulsed laser in interferometric metrology relaxes the stability requirements for the experimental setup. The use of such a laser also makes it possible for one to study high-speed dynamic processes. We justify the use of a double-pulsed laser in electronic shear interferometry. We show how image subtraction can be applied to produce

Laser thrombolysis using long pulse frequency-doubled Nd:YAG lasers

Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 1999
Laser thrombolysis is a means for clearing blood clots in occluded arteries. Many researchers have studied the mechanisms of clot ablation, and research clinicians have used the technique to treat myocardial infarction with a number of different laser systems. Specifically, a 1-microsec pulsed dye laser has been used clinically to remove blood clots in

A double-electrode-pair-pulsed laser

Applied Physics Letters, 1980
A transversely excited atmosphere carbon dioxide laser with two sets of electrode in the optical cavity is described. The device produces high-intensity pulse pairs with time separations as short as 20×10−6 sec. This is accomplished without high-speed gas flow.

Efficient Laser Drilling with Double-Pulse Laser Processing

2008
A significant improvement of drilling efficiency is observed in laser drilling thin steel plate with double-pulse laser technique. The laser used in the experiment is a 1047 nm Q-switched laser with pulse duration of 21 ns and interpulse separation of 52 ns.

Ultrashort-pulse laser irradiation of metal films: the effect of a double-peak laser pulse

Applied Physics A, 2010
Using molecular-dynamics simulation coupled to a homogeneous model for the electron gas, we study the response of an Al thin film on short-pulse laser irradiation. Laser pulses are considered to have a double-peak structure consisting of two Gaussian pulses; the time delay between the two pulses is varied. The temporal dependence of the energy transfer

Holographic Double Pulse Yag Lasers

SPIE Proceedings, 1986
Author describes a doubled pulse yag laser manufactured by SOPRA and indicates information of results reached by the Laboratoire de SAINT-LOUIS. Described double pulse yag laser is issued of monomode frequency doubled yag laser and can be used in Holography as a very attractive source.

Strongly coupled intracavity frequency-doubled pulsed lasers

Optics Letters, 2004
Simple expressions for the peak power, pulse energy, and pulse length of strongly coupled intracavity frequency-doubled lasers are presented. For nonlinear coupling values that correspond to many common systems, these expressions agree well with the results of numerical integration of the rate equations.

Periodic pulse oscillation in an intracavity-doubled Nd:YVO_4 laser

Applied Optics, 1996
We report periodic pulse oscillation in an intracavity-doubled Nd:YVO(4) laser. The pulse oscillation is caused by alternate oscillation between two modes. We investigated improvement of green-light power with the pulse oscillation in a Nd:YVO(4) laser.

Internal silicon laser processing with picosecond double pulses

Optics Letters
Nonlinear propagation effects present major challenges for inscription inside silicon using ultrashort laser pulses. To overcome these limitations, we employ single-digit picosecond double pulses with picosecond pulse-to-pulse delays, enabling repeatable in-volume modifications. The double-pulse benefits are most pronounced for

Frequency doubling of ultrashort pulses in a Ti:sapphire laser

Proceedings of LEOS '93, 2002
Frequency doubling the 800-850 nm fundamental of Ti:sapphire lasers may make possible pulses of unprecedented short duration in the blue. Both intracavity and extracavity femtosecond pulses from Ti:sapphire and CPM lasers have been demonstrated. Intracavity doubling is more difficult, but it has the advantage of much higher power in the KH/sub 2/PO/sub
