Control of doubly-fed induction generator system using PFNN
2011 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE 2011), 2011An intelligent controlled doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) system using probabilistic fuzzy neural network (PFNN) is proposed in this study. This system can be applied as a stand-alone power supply system or as the emergency power system when the electricity grid fails for all sub-synchronous, synchronous and super-synchronous conditions.

The Doubly-Fed Induction Generator as Part of the Electrical Machines Curriculum
2018 5th International Symposium on Environment-Friendly Energies and Applications (EFEA), 2018The doubly-fed induction machine has long been reputed as a curiosity with few practical applications. Consequently, very often there was not enough space to treat this machine in undergraduate electrical machines curricula in the past. But times changed and today this machine is often an integral part of wind turbines as electric generator.

Several research articles have been published in conventional doubly-fed induction generator for harvesting wind energy, but the research work on unconventional doublyfed induction generator carried out very less quantity. In this direction, this paper bridges this gap by comparing the three-phase doubly-fed induction generator (TPDFIG) to novel six ...

Stable Adaptive Inertial Control of a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator
IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2016This paper proposes a stable adaptive inertial control scheme of a doubly-fed induction generator. The proposed power reference is defined in two sections: 1) the deceleration period and 2) the acceleration period. The power reference in the deceleration period consists of a constant and the reference for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) operation ...

Efficiency increase in a wind system with Doubly Fed Induction Generator
IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016In this paper, an improved efficiency control strategy for a Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) with Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is presented. The developed control strategy minimizes the electric loss in the DFIG and provides maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control in the wind turbine.

Modeling of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator with strong slot harmonic
IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013This paper presents a general model of the Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). The model includes the influence of slotting on the harmonics of stator- and rotor currents. Most squirrel-cage induction machines can be described well based on a fundamental-wave model of winding distribution.

Passivity-based control of a doubly-fed induction generator interconnected with an induction motor
42nd IEEE International Conference on Decision and Control (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37475), 2004We are interested in this paper on the control of an electromechanical system consisting of a doubly-fed induction generator, driven by a prime mover that can supply or extract mechanical power, e.g., a flywheel inertia, and an induction motor. The stator of the induction machine is connected to the stator of the generator whose rotor voltage is ...

Power and Speed Control of Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Generators [PDF]
The brushless doubly fed induction generator (BDFIG) with a partially rated converter has characteristics of a squirrel cage induction generator and a conventional synchronous generator. Its control is challenging due to the machine's complicated structure, which requires an effective controller to stabilize it within its normal speed range and under ...
