Harmonic analysis of doubly fed induction generators

The Fifth International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2003. PEDS 2003., 2004
This paper gives an overview of the frequency spectrum of the stator and rotor currents in a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used in wind power applications. The paper also presents a method to eliminate higher harmonics and interharmonics in the DFIG stator current.

Impedance modeling of doubly-fed induction generators

2015 17th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE'15 ECCE-Europe), 2015
This work presents sequence impedance models of Type-III wind turbines based on doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG). The models take into account the effects of both stator- and rotor-side converters as well as their control, including the phase-locked loop (PLL) and current control.

Harmonic analysis of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator

IEEE PES T&D 2010, 2010
The aim of this paper is to develop a framework for analysis of harmonics in a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) caused by non-sinusoidal conditions in the rotor as well as unbalance in stator. Non-sinusoidal rotor voltages are decomposed into harmonic components and their corresponding sequences are identified.

Control of the doubly Fed Induction Generator in WECS

The 2nd IEEE Conference on Power Engineering and Renewable Energy (ICPERE) 2014, 2014
The major part of the existing research works concerning variable speed wind turbines control is not only to capture the maximum power from the wind but, also, to improve the quality of power and to converge the system for operating at unity power factor. This paper proposes a new power control of a variable speed wind energy conversion system based on

Power control for a doubly fed induction generator

2012 IEEE International Conference on Complex Systems (ICCS), 2012
This paper proposes a direct power control scheme of a doubly-fed induction generator under wind speed variations. The PI controllers are used to control active and reactive power. A control scheme is developed that uses stator flux orientated vector control.

The algebra of the ideal doubly-fed induction generator

2016 IEEE/ACES International Conference on Wireless Information Technology and Systems (ICWITS) and Applied Computational Electromagnetics (ACES), 2016
Three-phase, doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) are key constituents of power conversion plants. Modeling and control of a DFIG become relevant to deal with intermittency in primary energy supply (e.g., the wind velocity field) and with uncertainty in the load.

Determination of parameters of doubly-fed induction generators

2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016
In this paper, the identification of equivalent circuit parameters of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is investigated. To date, several methods have been presented to identify or estimate induction machine (IM) parameters by using IEEE Std. 112. However, for accurate results using this standard, adjustments according to the machine's design are

Virtual torque control in wind generation with doubly fed induction generator

IECON 2012 - 38th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2012
In this work, a controller design strategy for wind turbines with doubly fed induction generators is addressed. The goal of the controller is to assure bounded both power derivative and blade pitch angle derivative, at the same time that the accelerations of the machine are minimized in order to avoid harmful fatigue loads.

Control of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator System Using PIDNNs

2010 Ninth International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications, 2010
An intelligent control stand-alone doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) system using proportional-integral-derivative neural network (PIDNN) is proposed in this study. This system can be applied as a stand-alone power supply system or as the emergency power system when the electricity grid fails for all sub-synchronous, synchronous and super ...
