A Dynamic LVRT Solution for Doubly Fed Induction Generators
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2009Doubly fed induction generators have become the most common type of wind turbine generators. However, this type of generator is susceptible to grid-side low voltage and short circuits due to existence of a power electronics converter on the rotor side.

POG modeling of a Cascaded Doubly-Fed Induction Generator
2010 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2010In this paper a Cascaded Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (CDFIG) has been modeled using the Power-Oriented Graphs (POG) technique. The dynamic equations of the system have been obtained using a Lagrangian approach. The system equations have been described with respect to a rotating reference frame to clearly show the internal dynamic structure of the ...

Intelligent control of a brushless doubly-fed induction generator
International Journal of System Assurance Engineering and Management, 2019Brushless doubly-fed induction generator (BDFIG) has drawn significant attention in recent years in variable speed drive applications due to such features as simple and robust construction, favorable operating characteristics and reduced maintenance. The objective of BDFIG control is to achieve better performance compared to the doubly fed induction ...

Additive and multiplicative fault diagnosis for a doubly-fed induction generator
2011 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications (CCA), 2011The problem of additive and multiplicative fault detection and isolation (FDI) in the current sensors of a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is considered in the presence of model uncertainty. A residual generator based on the DFIG model is proposed using the structure of the classical generalized observer scheme (GOS).

Bearing currents in doubly-fed induction generators
2005 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2005An increasing demand on the quality of wind power systems affects also more and more the fields of lifetime and reliability. But, problems like bearing damages because of bearing currents counteract these desired demands. Especially doubly fed induction generators, which are wide spread in use for wind turbines up to the MW-class can be limited in ...

Frequency Regulation By Doubly Fed Induction Generator
2019 IEEE International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Communication Technologies (ICECCT), 2019Conventional generators which provide frequency regulation in power systems are getting replaced by renewable sources. So in a system which is penetrated by Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS), we need to think of providing frequency regulation features in the WECS itself.

Induction generator based on doubly-fed machine
2018 17th International Ural Conference on AC Electric Drives (ACED), 2018The authors analyzed the approach to implement a self-contained generator based on an induction motor with a wound rotor with connection of a stator circuit to the load and with the power supply of rotor windings from a regulated source of alternating current.

Harmonic analysis of doubly fed induction generators
The Fifth International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2003. PEDS 2003., 2004This paper gives an overview of the frequency spectrum of the stator and rotor currents in a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used in wind power applications. The paper also presents a method to eliminate higher harmonics and interharmonics in the DFIG stator current.

Harmonic analysis of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator
IEEE PES T&D 2010, 2010The aim of this paper is to develop a framework for analysis of harmonics in a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) caused by non-sinusoidal conditions in the rotor as well as unbalance in stator. Non-sinusoidal rotor voltages are decomposed into harmonic components and their corresponding sequences are identified.

Impedance modeling of doubly-fed induction generators
2015 17th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE'15 ECCE-Europe), 2015This work presents sequence impedance models of Type-III wind turbines based on doubly-fed induction generators (DFIG). The models take into account the effects of both stator- and rotor-side converters as well as their control, including the phase-locked loop (PLL) and current control.
