S-allylcysteine Improves Blood Flow Recovery and Prevents Ischemic Injury by Augmenting Neovasculogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Studies suggest that a low level of circulating human endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) is a risk factor for ischemic injury and coronary artery disease (CAD). Consumption of S-allylcysteine (SAC) is known to prevent CAD.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Pathogenic Role of mTORC1 and mTORC2 in Pulmonary Hypertension. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Concentric lung vascular wall thickening due to enhanced proliferation of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells is an important pathological cause for the elevated pulmonary vascular resistance reported in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Experimental study and evaluation on influence of deep alluvium foundation suffusion on deformation of soil skeleton in foundation of Luding Hydropower Station

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
Suffusion of stratum ① in deep alluvium foundation of Luding Hydropower Station induces water gushing incident. Continuous migration of fine particles may induce skeleton deformation, and then it may threat the safety of Luding Dam, downstream cascade ...

Genetic variability of wild populations of Leporinus elongatus in the São Domingos River - MS Brazil: a preliminary view on the construction of the hydroelectric plant

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2016
Most of the electricity used in Brazil comes from hydroelectric plants, mainly due to the great availability of its water resources. However, the construction of these plants denotes serious problems related to migration of native fish and the genetic ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Identifying the crucial oncogenic mechanisms of DDX56 based on a machine learning-based integration model of RNA-binding proteins

open access: yesnpj Precision Oncology
RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play a fundamental role in cellular metabolism, with their disturbance leading to large-scale transcriptomic dysregulation. RBP dysregulation is highly prevalent in human cancers; however, its role in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD)
