Worm‐Inspired Soft Robots With Modular Outfit‐Changing for Intelligent Multienvironment Adaptation
This study proposes a worm‐inspired soft robot capable of locomotion across multiple environments through a modular “outfit‐changing” strategy. The robot integrates pneumatically actuated peristaltic segments with interchangeable external modules, enabling efficient motion on ground surfaces, within pipelines, through granular media, and underwater ...

Modelling of cup anemometry and dynamic overspeeding in average wind speed measurements [PDF]
Cup anemometers measure average wind speed in the atmosphere and have been used for one and a half centuries by meteorologists. Within the last half century, cup anemometers have been used extensively in wind energy to measure wind resources and ...

Acoustofluidic Patterning for Improved Microtissue Histology
Microtissue histology is widely used to characterize microtissue phenotype and morphology. However, conventional microtissue histology workflows are inefficient and time‐consuming. This work introduces a novel embedding technique that uses acoustofluidics to improve the efficiency of microtissue histology and reduce the time required for data analysis.

Summarization: Drilling through the subsurface is a complex operation and problems are almost guaranteed to occur. Therefore, understanding and anticipating drilling problems, understanding their causes and planning solutions are necessary for successfully reaching the target. The most prevalent drilling problems include pipe sticking, lost circulation,

Abstract Invasive gray squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) have replaced the native red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) across much of Great Britain over the last century. Several factors have been proposed to underlie this replacement, but here we investigated the potential for dietary competition in which gray squirrels have better feeding performance than ...

A new musculoskeletal reconstruction and revision of the cranio‐mandibular anatomy of the Devonian arthrodire placoderm Dunkleosteus terrelli from a comparative and functional anatomical perspective. Dunkleosteus is a specialized arthrodire with many specializations for feeding on large vertebrates, and many of its features are part of broader ...

Patterns of spinal motion, kinematic spaces and the land‐to‐sea transition in carnivorans
Using 3D reconstructions, we quantify intervertebral joint mobility to investigate how cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebral regions evolved distinct kinematic roles in pinnipeds. The findings reveal lineage‐specific adaptations for swimming and highlight the functional significance of vertebral joint flexibility in ecological transitions.
