Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging
Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.We fabricated a biomimetic dendrimer‐modified thin‐film nanocomposite membrane with a coordination‐assisted ion‐selective interface. pH‐responsive polypeptide sites preferentially bind Mg2+ and promote Li+ permeation, as predicted by density functional theory calculations of metal‐ligand interactions.

Advanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

Ion identity steers the path: Ba and Sr substitute Ca in clusters, thereby inhibiting nucleation, with a dose‐dependent switch of Sr to induction. Mg partitions into Mg‐rich and Mg‐poor clusters; the latter form ACC, expelling Mg.
