An analysis of a polarized electromagnetic drive system and of vibrator drive systems
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1960Conventional electromagnetic contact-drive systems suffer from the disadvantage that resonant oscillation cannot be obtained, and this is shown in the analysis included. A scheme which overcomes this defect by the use of a permanent magnet and a tuned drive circuit is described.

Development of a System to Promote Eco-Driving and Safe-Driving
2010This study aims to develop a system by applying the mobile information and communication technology to promote eco-driving and safe-driving. A probe-person unit developed by author et al. is changed to be functional with the above purposes through adding some devices. Then the system is proposed and developed to network the operators and users.

THE GALILEO TELESCOPE DRIVE SYSTEM
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992Abstract The Galileo National Telescope (TNG) is an Italian 3.5m telescope to be located on La Palma (Spain). Construction of TNG is well in progress, and the first light should be obtained in the second half of 1995. The TNG main elements have been derived from those of the ESO NTT, although some alternative solutions regarding the components and ...

Safety Verification of Automated Driving Systems
IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine, 2013In this paper, a set based approach is presented for safety verification and performance analysis of automated driving systems. As an example, reachability analysis technique is used to study the minimum required safe inter-vehicle distance for two given adaptive cruise controllers, a state feedback and a state feedback/feedforward controller designed ...

The vehicle power plant must be sized for the target vehicle mass, load requirements and performance goals. Vehicle propulsion system traction is set by the vehicle design mass and acceleration performance according to Newton's law, F = ma. Acceptable acceleration levels are 0.15 to 0.3 g, which for a 1500 kg vehicle requires an accel erating force F ...
