Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

ESAT-6–dependent cytosolic pattern recognition drives noncognate tuberculosis control in vivo [PDF]
IFN-γ is a critical mediator of host defense against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection. Antigen-specific CD4+ T cells have long been regarded as the main producer of IFN-γ in tuberculosis (TB), and CD4+ T cell immunity is the main target of current TB vaccine candidates.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Machine Vision Based Traffic Sign Detection Methods: Review, Analyses and Perspectives
Traffic signs recognition (TSR) is an important part of some advanced driver-assistance systems (ADASs) and auto driving systems (ADSs). As the first key step of TSR, traffic sign detection (TSD) is a challenging problem because of different types, small
