How Internal Transaction Costs Drive Compensation Schemes [PDF]
The literature on chief executive officers (CEOs) establishes that economic and sociological rationales are both essential to understand the level and structure of CEOs' compensation. Our thesis is that internal "transaction costs" or frictions override strictly economic criteria to determine pay levels and pay structures.

Integrated self-driving travel scheme planning
International Journal of Production Economics, 2021Abstract Travel scheme planning is a crucial operational-level decision to be made in travel supply chain management. We investigate an integrated self-driving travel scheme planning (ISTSP) problem to optimize routing, hotel selection, and time scheduling under several streams of personalized considerations: best site-viewing time windows, rest ...

Motor driving/braking control scheme with integration of multiple driving components
Asian Journal of Control, 2020AbstractThis paper develops a modular multilevel inverter which integrates driving/braking control schemes in a unit for electric vehicles. The multiple driving components are used to balance surge voltage/current across the last stage power MOSFETs due to abrupt back electromotive force (EMF) generated by the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM).

Comparison of hybrid propulsion drive schemes
IEEE Electric Ship Technologies Symposium, 2005., 2005This paper provides a brief overview of a hybrid drives which have become popular in recent years. These drives combine two or more multilevel power inverters to obtain exceptional power quality which is necessary for Naval propulsion applications. Furthermore, for ship propulsion, where it may be difficult to obtain several isolated dc voltage sources,

Random modulation schemes for industrial drives
2017 International Conference on Nascent Technologies in Engineering (ICNTE), 2017Random Pulse Position Pulse Width Modulation (RPPPWM) scheme can achieve the distributed harmonic spectrum of both voltage and current. This results in reduction of acoustic noise and mechanical vibrations. The gate signals are generated by comparing sine wave and pseudorandom bits (PRBS).

Proposed low frequency tokamak current drive scheme
Nuclear Fusion, 1988Low frequency helicity injection can, in principle, be used for current drive in a toroidal plasma system. The F-θ pumping technique is being tested in the ZT-40M reversed field pinch experiment. Two new methods of helicity injection without oscillating toroidal field are proposed for tokamaks.
