Development of a headlight glare simulator for a driving simulator [PDF]
We describe the design and construction of a headlight glare simulator to be used with a driving simulator. The system combines a modified programmable off-the-shelf LED display board and a beamsplitter so that the LED lights, representing the headlights of oncoming cars, are superimposed over the driving simulator headlights image.

Validity of Mental Workload Measures in a Driving Simulation Environment
Automated in-vehicle systems and related human-machine interfaces can contribute to alleviating the workload of drivers. However, each new functionality can also introduce a new source of workload, due to the need to attend to new tasks and thus requires

Validation of a Virtual Driver Assessment Tool for Older Drivers
Few studies have developed and validated a driving simulator for use with older drivers. As the population ages and demand for maintaining mobility in late-life increases, so will demand for efficient, safe and cost-effective methods of assessment and ...

Manual control analysis of drug effects on driving performance [PDF]
The effects of secobarbital, diazepam, alcohol, and marihuana on car-driver transfer functions obtained using a driving simulator were studied. The first three substances, all CNS depressants, reduced gain, crossover frequency, and coherence which ...
