The Role of Chemistry Across Disciplines From Humanities to Life Sciences in Understanding Complexity and Emergence

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This study explores the origins of life by linking prebiotic chemistry, the emergence of information‐carrying molecules such as RNA and proteins, and philosophical questions about consciousness. The study emphasizes the role of molecular evolution in the Central Dogma and provides insights into the chemical origins of biology and the basis of life's ...

Static Analysis of Gelatin-like Simulation Mass as a Subsoil in Scale Physical Modeling

open access: yesBuildings
The investigation of wave propagation in the geological environment is warranted, and will ultimately help to provide a better understanding of the response of subsoil to excitation.

Displacement Derived Energy Levels for Harvard Miniature Compaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Previously, the amount of energy provided by the Harvard Miniature tamper was adjusted by changing the number of blows per lift or the number of lifts or was not adjusted at all. However, this research was conducted to investigate the effect of adjusting

The Hubble sequence: just a vestige of merger events? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Abr: We investigate whether the Hubble sequence can be reproduced by the relics of merger events. We verify that, at zmed=0.65, the abundant population of anomalous starbursts is mainly linked to the local spirals.

Spherical Skin Model: Stratified Co‐Culture of Fibroblasts and Keratinocytes on Spherical Beads Toward Compound Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Models of the human skin must combine the relevant biological contents and suitable biomaterials with the correct spatial organization. Performing compound screening on such in vitro models also requires fast and reproducible production methods of the models.

Photocatalytic Cross‐Coupling of Phenols and Heteroaryl Halides With Machine Learning‐Guided Reaction Prediction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic cross‐coupling: A redox‐neutral photochemical method enables direct C(sp2)─C(sp2) bond formation between phenols and heteroaryl halides using an organic dye and base. Complementary radical generation allows efficient cross‐coupling in up to 91% yield. Mechanistic studies, DFT, HTE, and machine learning rationalize and predict reactivity,

Development of Drop-Hammer Compression Apparatus with Controlled Stopping Device and Its Application to Bonding Test.

open access: yesJSME International Journal Series C, 1997
A Drop-hammer compression apparatus with a controlled stopping device is developed. A check test for the stopping device is carried out by compression of a short circular bar. The accuracy of the device is confirmed to be satisfactory for practical use. It works well without redundant jumping motion of the drop-hammer.

Light‐Induced Entropy for Secure Vision

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work realized a ternary true random number generator by exploiting stochastic traps emerging within multiple junction interfaces, and quantitatively validated the generation of high‐quality random numbers. Furthermore, it successfully demonstrated diverse applications, including AI‐resilient image security, thereby providing a valuable guide for ...
