Characterization of two-phase combustible mixtures produced in a fan stirred bomb
The study of spray combustion is difficult due to the multiplicity of inter-dependent variables, such as pressure, temperature, droplet size, droplet size distribution, etc, especially industrial cases.

Process‐Informed Analysis of As‐Built Metal Additive Surface Features
This article introduces a novel method for feature‐based surface texture characterisation directly incorporating manufacturing variables into the feature extraction workflow. This marks a major step towards identifying process‐specific surface properties and their influence on part function and hence a holistic understanding of process–structure ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Combustion characteristics in the transition region of liquid fuel sprays [PDF]
A number of important effects were observed in the droplet size transition region in spray combustion systems. In this region, where the mechanism of flame propagation is transformed from diffusive to premixed dominated combustion, the following effects ...

The low cycle fatigue life of additive manufactured HAYNES® 282® superalloy was investigated for conventional and high‐productivity processing: samples of the former lasted 1400–1700 cycles, while samples of the latter failed at ~ 1200 cycles, at 760 °C and 1% strain.

Duplex Stainless Steel Laser‐Surface Textured: Stability in Brine Solution
Controlled laser‐surface treatment (LST) of duplex DSS2205 steel is performed to increase its stability in brine solution under cyclic electrochemical assays. The superior protection with respect to flat and smooth panels is attributed to the presence of FeCr2O4 as the main protective oxide layer in the LST surface, after corrosion tests. The stability

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.
