Droplet-size distribution and stability of lipid injectable emulsions
American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 2009The droplet-size distribution (DSD) and stability of multiple lots of lipid injectable emulsions were studied.A total of 234 commercial batches of Intralipid (Fresenius Kabi, Uppsala, Sweden) were characterized, and the influence of the emulsions' oil content on samples packaged in single- and three-chamber bags was tested. Larger-sized lipid particles

Optical Heterodyne Measurement of Cloud Droplet Size Distributions
Applied Optics, 1973Optical heterodyne spectra of laser light quasi-elastically scattered by falling water droplets (1-10-micro radius) in a diffusion cloud chamber were used to determine the droplet size distribution. The rate of fall depends on radius in a known way, thus yielding a heterodyne spectrum manifesting a distribution of Doppler shifts.

Cloud Condensation Nucleus Size Distributions and Their Effects on Cloud Droplet Size Distributions
Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 1977Abstract Cloud droplet size distributions, calculated from cloud condensation nucleus (CCN) measurements made beneath non-raining, warm clouds in western and eastern Washington State, show reasonable agreement with droplet size distributions measured in the clouds.

Size Distribution of Tobacco Smoke Droplets by a Replica Method
Nature, 1960HITHERTO it appears that when size distributions of tobacco smoke droplets have been made by light or electron microscopy, the droplets have been caught on glass surfaces or one of the usual kinds of specimen support film, and upon deposition they have spread on the sampling surface (Fig. 1a and c). As a result, published size distributions obtained by

Evolution of droplet size distribution and composition in miniemulsions
Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2014ABSTRACTA fundamental understanding of the formation, degradation and polymerization of miniemulsions has been hindered by difficulties in quantifying their monomer droplet size distribution (DSD). In this work, particle sizing techniques including capillary hydrodynamic fractionation, acoustic attenuation spectroscopy, surfactant titration, and ...

Microemulsions: theoretical estimates of droplet sizes and size distributions
2007After a brief introduction on general properties of microemulsions, this paper presents an expression for the Gibbs energy of a water in oil (W/O) microemulsion containing a range of droplet sizes. Droplets are partitioned in categories, j, where j is the number of surfactant molecules per droplet.
