Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Strategies for Abatement of Contamination of Tableted Live Plague Vaccine at Different Stages of Manufacturing

open access: yesПроблемы особо опасных инфекций, 2016
Nowadays, problem of tableted drug form contamination with extraneous micro-flora is in the spotlight of scientists, as the specific share of these medical preparations in the world market amounts to more than 60 % and has a tendency to increase.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

N-nitrosamine risk assessment in pharmaceuticals: Where are we from a regulatory point of view in 2025?

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis Open
N-nitrosamines have been a concern for decades due to their potential mutagenicity and widespread occurrence across various matrices. While evidence suggests carcinogenicity in animals, their potential carcinogenicity in humans has prompted their initial

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Impurities in Drug Vials Intended for Intravitreal Medication

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmological Medicine, 2020
Sterility is an important prerequisite for minimizing the risk of severe vision loss due to endophthalmitis after intravitreal injections. We describe three cases series of incidents where an unclear contamination of the drug solution or syringe caused ...

Environmental Contamination with Hazardous Drugs in Quebec Hospitals

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy, 2012
Since publication of the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health alert on hazardous drugs in 2004, many health care organizations have reviewed their procedures for handling hazardous drugs. Occupational exposure may occur when handling, compounding, or administering a drug considered to be hazardous, at any stage from storage to waste

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Investigation of Ingavirin® Antiviral Activity Against Season Influenza Virus A/H1N1 in MDCK Cell Culture

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
Ingavirin® is low toxic for the MDCK cell culture. The drug concentration of 1000 mcg/ml does not reach the CD50 value. The antiviral activity of Ingavirin® was studied with respect to the influenza virus A/H1N1, including the Remantadin® resistant ...
