Evaluation of daily residual pancreatic tumor motion for deep‐inspiration breath‐hold radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Breath‐hold techniques are widely used in radiation therapy to minimize respiratory‐induced tumor or organ‐at‐risk motion. However, residual motion persists, necessitating a reliable daily evaluation method. Methods At our institution, fiducial markers serve as surrogates for target localization in pancreatic cancer treatment.

[Management of antiretroviral drug toxicity].

open access: yesEnfermedades infecciosas y microbiologia clinica, 2011
Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART)-associated toxicity has been the most important limiting factor of the doubtless efficacy of this treatment. HAART-associated toxicity can have two kinds of temporal profiles; early toxicity, also known as tolerability, and long-term or chronic toxicity. Both types of toxicity are of foremost importance, not

Chauhan Weighted Trajectory Analysis of combined efficacy and safety outcomes for risk-benefit analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Analyzing and effectively communicating the efficacy and toxicity of treatment is the basis of risk benefit analysis (RBA). More efficient and objective tools are needed. We apply Chauhan Weighted Trajectory Analysis (CWTA) to perform RBA with superior objectivity, power, and clarity.

Feasibility study of skin dosimetry with TLD sheets for measuring the effect of 3D printed bolus in radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract The thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) sheet is a measurement device coated with manganese‐doped LiB3O5 in sheet form. The sheet is 0.2‐mm thick and flexible. Hence, it can fit and be installed on irregular surfaces. The current study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of measuring patient surface doses during radiation therapy using TLD sheets.
