Dry deposition velocities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Dry deposition velocities are very difficult to predict accurately. In this article, reported values of dry deposition velocities are summarized. This summary includes values from the literature on field measurements of gas and particle dry deposition velocities, and the uncertainties inherent in extrapolating field results to predict dry deposition ...

Deposit Growth in the Wetting of an Angular Region with Uniform Evaporation

open access: yes, 2005
Solvent loss due to evaporation in a drying drop can drive capillary flows and solute migration. The flow is controlled by the evaporation profile and the geometry of the drop. We predict the flow and solute migration near a sharp corner of the perimeter

Chemical vapour deposition and atomic layer deposition of amorphous and nanocrystalline metallic coatings: towards deposition of multimetallic films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper provides a prospective insight on chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and atomic layer deposition (ALD) as dry techniques for the processing of amorphous and nanocrystalline metallic thin films.

Spatial-temporal heterogeneity of vegetation reduces concentration of atmospheric pollution particles in the East China Metropolitan Area

open access: yesEcological Indicators
Air pollution, particularly PM2.5 and PM10, presents substantial challenges in China’s major urban agglomerations: Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH), Yangtze River Delta (YRD), and Pearl River Delta (PRD).

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Aporte atmosférico de amônio, nitrato e sulfato em área de floresta ombrófila densa montana na Serra dos Órgãos, RJ Atmospheric deposition of ammonium, nitrate ans sulfate on the montane dense ombrophilous forest in Serra dos Órgãos, RJ

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2007
Wet and dry (dust) deposition was measured in the Serra dos Órgãos National Park. VWM pH was 5.3. Non-sea-salt (nss) SO4(2-) comprised 97% of total SO4(2-).

Atmospheric mercury deposition over the land surfaces and the associated uncertainties in observations and simulations: a critical review [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2019
One of the most important processes in the global mercury (Hg) biogeochemical cycling is the deposition of atmospheric Hg, including gaseous elemental mercury (GEM), gaseous oxidized mercury (GOM), and particulate-bound mercury (PBM), to the land ...

Measurements of pernitric acid at the South Pole during ISCAT 2000 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The first measurements of pernitric acid at the South Pole were performed during the second Investigation of Sulfur Chemistry in the Antarctic Troposphere (ISCAT 2000). Observed HO2NO2 concentrations averaged 25 pptv.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...
