INFLUENCE OF FILLING MATERIALS OF DENTURE BASE BY SILVER NANOPARTICLES ON THEIR TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Society of Tribology
The aim of the present work is to reduce the voltage generated from the sliding of the denture base made of PMMA. Because PMMA is actively electrostatically charged during attrition with food and teeth, the generated voltage can harmfully influence the ...

Dry sliding wear characterization of squeeze cast LM13/FeCu composite using response surface methodology [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2017
Dry sliding wear is one of the predominant factors to be considered while selecting material for automotive and aerospace applications. Researchers have been exploring novel aluminium matrix composites (AMC), which offer minimum wear rate for various ...

Dry Sliding wear behaviour of Ferrite-Martensite Dual Phase Steels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the present investigation, High Strength Low Alloy Steel (HSLA) was subjected to Intermediate Quench (IQ) heat treatment process at four different intercritical temperatures to obtain Dual Phase(DP) steels of varying percentages of ferrite-martensite ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

FRICTION COEFFICIENT BETWEEN CLOTHES AND CAR SEAT COVERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Society of Tribology, 2011
The present work discusses the friction coefficient displayed by clothes sliding against car seat covers. The frictional performance of two groups of covers, the first was contained five different types of synthetic leather and the second contained nine ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Influence of roughness on ZDDP tribofilm formation in boundary lubricated fretting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Influence of initial surface topography on tribofilm formation in ZDDP lubricated contact was analysed. A small displacement fretting tests with sinusoidal motion were carried out in classical sphere/plane configuration.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
