Material hold-up on inert particles in fluidized bed dryer [PDF]
In this paper the influence of process parameters on the material hold-up in a fluidized bed dryer with inert particles was investigated. The experiments were performed in a pilot-scale dryer with a cylindrical column 0.215 m in diameter and 1.2 m height,

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Connecting Texture and Breakup in Water and Simulated Gastric Fluid with Different Food-like Tablets
Three food-like tablet types, with Young’s moduli similar to those of real foods, were prepared to investigate breakup during digestion using caffeine as a model solute. Texture was evaluated in situ during simulated digestion by measuring Young’s moduli

PHYSIOLOGICAL QUALITY OF CHICKPEA (CICER ARIETINUM L.) SEEDS UNDER STORAGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL VARIATIONS [PDF]
Chickpea has recently gained prominence in agriculture, being an excellent option for crop rotation in areas cultivated with soybean or corn. Seeds must have good physiological quality, mainly during storage, to ensure crop success.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Comparison on Modelling of Drying Kinetics of Granular Polymers PA6 by Diffusion Models and Normalization Method [PDF]
In this work, the drying behaviour of single granular PA6, hanging in the flow direction of hot air in a drying chamber, was investigated. In the experiments, the air was passed through the chamber at contant very low velocity in the drying chamber of ...

Influence of mount-foot penetration depth on the quantification of drying strain
The need for a drying stress indicator has previously been stated with some research in the past to this means. Given the recent successes in achieving this goal through monitoring shrinkage, the refinement and further understanding of the process was ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Effect of Distributed Superficial-Velocity in Deep-Bed Grain Drying [PDF]
This paper deals with influence of velocity field distribution to heat and mass transfer process in deep bed grain dryers. Two-dimensional (2D) models of deep-bed grain dryers were built by considering simultaneously momentum, heat, and mass transfer in ...
